Show reflections and marks
Photograph the surface from more than one angle. Reflections can reveal marks and existing finish differences that are hard to see in a straight-down image. Include a clean, dry overall view as well.
Compare the finish in context
Review the proposed film against the actual surface and room lighting where possible. Colour alone does not determine suitability. Discuss seams, edges and adjoining bare stone, not just the centre of a sample.
Agree care before installation
Ask which cleaner and cloth are appropriate for the chosen film. If fingerprints, streaking or a previous treatment are concerns, raise them early. The care plan should be based on the supplied product rather than an assumption about dark stone generally.
