Simple habits. Clear instructions.

Caring for protected stone

Once film is installed, care for the film and the stone as a system. Keep the product-specific instructions close to hand.

Use the specified cleaner

Choose products approved for the installed film. A cleaner sold for bare stone is not automatically suitable for a surface coating. Ask before using solvents, abrasive creams or strong cleaning chemicals. Test only where and how the product instructions permit.

Consider the finish, the edge profile and the light across your surface.

Keep daily cleaning gentle

Use a clean soft cloth and the recommended cleaning method. Remove spills promptly rather than leaving them until later. Change dirty cloths so trapped grit is not dragged across the surface. Avoid aggressive scrubbing when a mark does not come away readily.

Keep heat and blades away

Continue using chopping boards and trivets. Do not assume a protective layer makes the surface cut-proof or suitable for hot pans. Product-specific temperature and exposure limits should come from the selected manufacturer, not a general marketing claim.

Report edge changes early

If you notice an edge lifting, a seam changing or an unfamiliar mark, photograph it before trying to repair it. Keep the product name and installation date ready. Do not trim, peel or apply adhesive without advice; that can make later assessment more difficult.
