Stone protection film seams and layout

Agree the visible details before installation.

Plan the pieces around the surface

A layout should identify the pieces covering each bench section and any proposed seam. Send a sketch showing the island, wall runs, corners and changes of direction. The usable width of the selected film matters alongside length: an area calculation alone cannot establish whether a surface can be covered in one piece.

Consider the finish, the edge profile and the light across your surface.

Discuss what you will see

Ask how the proposed seam and termination details will look on your stone. Strong side lighting and patterned surfaces can make transitions easier to notice. A small sample helps assess sheen but cannot represent every full-size join. Do not assume a seamless result unless the accepted specification expressly describes one.

Record the accepted layout

Keep an annotated image with the quote so both sides understand the intended coverage. Include uncovered sections and exposed edges. If the layout changes after reviewing dimensions or product width, agree the revision before installation. This makes comparing quotations much more useful than comparing a total price alone.
