Granite benchtop protection

Protecting granite starts with understanding the finish and the way the surface is used. A polished kitchen island has different priorities from a textured stone top.

Check compatibility first

Share the stone name if known and explain whether it is polished, honed, leathered or otherwise textured. An uneven texture can affect the suitability and appearance of a surface film. We do not assume a film will suit every granite finish; the proposed system needs to be considered against the actual surface.

Consider the finish, the edge profile and the light across your surface.

Choose a practical coverage area

Decide whether the objective is to cover the complete kitchen, the island only or another defined surface. Include food-preparation zones, dining overhangs and sink surrounds in your photographs. A consistent layout should be discussed before ordering material rather than improvised during installation.

Record existing treatments

Previous sealers and topical coatings may affect preparation. If you have maintenance records, send the product names. Avoid applying a new treatment immediately before a film enquiry. Preparation requirements depend on the products already present and the film being considered.

Get a clear scope

Your quote should identify the stone sections, finish, edge coverage, preparation and any exclusions. Ask for the selected product’s care guidance and specific performance information. We quote from photos and relevant details, with agreed work booked only after the scope and price are accepted.
