Engineered-stone protection

Engineered-stone surfaces need a careful approach to existing marks and sheen. Protection and restoration are different decisions.

Send photos before attempting restoration

Burn marks, stains, fine scratches and dull patches can look similar in a photo yet require different responses. Send overall images, close-ups and a photo across the surface in reflected light. Include the manufacturer and colour where known, and describe what caused the mark if you know.

Consider the finish, the edge profile and the light across your surface.

Why sanding needs care

Sanding or polishing can alter the factory sheen and leave a visible finish difference. A local treatment may not blend with the surrounding benchtop. Where restoration is considered, complete-benchtop film coverage may need discussion for a more consistent finish. Neither the restoration result nor the final appearance should be promised before assessment.

Measure all connected sections

Even when a mark is small, the relevant coverage may extend beyond the damaged spot. Include each connected run, island and return in your measurements. Clearly identify separate pieces. This lets us discuss whether a local or whole-surface approach is appropriate without guessing from an isolated close-up.

Remote assessment, then a written scope

We review the supplied material details and photos remotely. Non-standard restoration is priced specifically; it is not covered by a generic online figure. Your written scope should explain preparation, expected finish, limitations and the areas to be covered before any installation date is agreed.
