Assess first. Protect second.

Protection over existing damage

Stains, burns, scratches and finish differences need a clear diagnosis before a protection system is selected.

Describe the history

Tell us when the mark appeared, what contacted the surface and what has already been tried. Include cleaning and polishing product names where available. A short history can help distinguish a surface residue from a change to the underlying finish.

Consider the finish, the edge profile and the light across your surface.

Send useful photographs

Include a wide view to locate the damage and several close-ups in natural light. Add an image looking across the surface. If the mark is visible only when wet or under a particular light, explain that without applying new chemicals or experimenting on the stone.

Avoid a patchwork finish

Local sanding or polishing can create a different sheen, especially on engineered stone. Restoration may need to be considered across a wider area, and whole-benchtop film coverage may be discussed for visual consistency. This must be assessed remotely and priced for the actual scope.

Know what protection cannot promise

Film does not guarantee that a stain, burn or scratch will disappear. Deep damage and structural defects need their own response. The quote should make clear whether preparation is included and what appearance limitations remain after the work.
