Photographing stone sheen and surface condition

Give a remote quote useful visual evidence.

Start with an overall view

Take one photo showing the full bench and its surroundings, then a photo of each separate section. Keep the camera steady and avoid filters. Include a familiar reference point such as the sink or edge so close-ups can be matched to the right location.

Consider the finish, the edge profile and the light across your surface.

Show both the surface and reflected light

Photograph the stone from above and at a shallow angle across the surface. Try ordinary daylight and the room’s normal lights if practical. Reflections may help show a finish difference that is hard to see straight on. Photographs support review but cannot guarantee that every surface condition is visible.

Label concerns and dimensions

Mark the position of damage on a separate copy of the overall photo, keeping the originals available. Add length and width measurements in a simple sketch rather than relying on perspective. Include known product or repair information and your suburb. There is no need to repeat photos already supplied unless a specific detail is missing.
