Bathroom vanity protection

Vanities combine stone, water, fittings and everyday products. Suitability depends on the surface, the layout and the proposed protection system.

Show the whole vanity

Take a photo of the complete top, then the basin, taps, splashback junction and exposed edges. State whether the basin is above-counter, inset or undermounted. Include the length and depth of each vanity and note if more than one bathroom is included.

Consider the finish, the edge profile and the light across your surface.

Explain existing concerns

Tell us about discolouration, water marks, etched patches or lifting coatings. Do not conceal existing damage in the enquiry; it may change the preparation needed. Leaks, loose fittings and unstable joints should be resolved independently rather than covered over.

Clarify wet-area suitability

Do not assume a film intended for a kitchen top suits every wet-area application. Confirm the selected product’s suitability for the exact location and exposure. Shower floors, shower walls and continuously wet areas are different scopes from a vanity top and require separate consideration.

Plan cleaning and handover

Keep the final care instructions available for everyone using or cleaning the bathroom. Ask which cleaning products are compatible and how edges around the basin should be cared for. Product-specific instructions take priority over general stone-cleaning habits.
