Waterfall islands & mitred edges

Protect the design details.

Show the change of direction

Photograph the top-to-side junction, lower corners and any visible joint. A close-up gives useful detail, while a wider image explains the overall geometry. Include whether both ends or only one side is part of the enquiry.

Consider the finish, the edge profile and the light across your surface.

Separate appearance from structure

A chipped mitre or moving joint needs separate assessment. Surface film cannot substitute for a sound edge or structural bond. Describe existing issues before requesting coverage so any preparation is considered explicitly.

Specify each face

Measure vertical faces separately from the top. Confirm whether the proposed system is suitable for each orientation and how it terminates near the floor or cabinetry. The quote should identify which faces are included rather than using the word island as a catch-all.
